Face Veneer Species
The veneers we use for plywood surfaces are primarily natural sliced and peeled veneers. Wood species range from local poplar wood to tropical hardwood, baltic birch, North American walnut, and Burma teak. The peeled veneers can make a surface for fancy plywood. Not only hardwood veneers, but we also laminate radiata pine and larch pine on the plywood.
Besides the natural veneers, we can also use reconstituted veneer. The recon veneer is a type of rotary cut veneer created from cheaper species, then dyed, layered, laminated, and laid up with grain that replicates a natural species. It offers outstanding consistency in color and grain. If you don’t find the veneer you like on the page, you may contact our sales for more choices and colors.

Yes. WBP Plywood is a hardwood faced plywood made with weather and boiling proof glue such as the phenolic adhesive.
It is water resistant but not 100% waterproof. Because the moisture can go into any type of plywood through its glueline and surfaces.
Poplar is actually a hardwood but many people think it as a softwood because its characteristic is more like a softwood. Poplar grain is typical hardwood grain though.
